Plain-language terms

Free Website Program Terms

These terms plainly explain the responsibilities, ownership and limits of the Free SEO-Ready Website Program.

They should be read with the privacy policy and the main website terms.

How these terms form the project agreement

The public programme terms set the common rules. The acceptance message records the current project-specific details.

The accepted scope should name the pages, required client information, review process and account setup. It should also identify any current capacity or schedule expectation that applies to the project.

If the application describes work outside the standard programme, CraftDigitally can decline it or propose a separate scope. Silence or an application submission does not create an obligation to begin work.

The owner should keep copies of the acceptance message, provider terms and final handover materials. Those records explain what was agreed and which accounts remain under the client's control.

Changes to the scope, provider or delivery responsibilities should be recorded in writing. A verbal request does not automatically replace the agreed programme limits.

Terms used on this page

Client
The person or organisation accepted into the programme.
Website
The agreed WordPress website and its approved public pages.
Handover
The transfer of access, guidance and the completed technical check report.
Provider
The separate company supplying a domain, hosting, theme or another third-party service.

Programme conditions

The application and acceptance messages form part of the agreed project scope.

Eligibility

CraftDigitally reviews applications for ethical use, suitable scope and current capacity. We may decline a project that does not fit the programme.

Programme scope

The programme covers a focused WordPress business website and the agreed core pages. Complex functions, custom software and ongoing work require a separate scope.

Business information and content

The client must provide accurate business details and confirm rights to every supplied logo, image, document and statement. Keyword mapping and on-page optimisation use the approved business information and content.

Domain and hosting

The client registers and owns the domain and hosting accounts. Hosting referral links may pay CraftDigitally a commission while the client pays the provider's normal rate.

Ownership and access

The client owns the delivered website and its accounts. CraftDigitally removes its administrator access after handover unless ongoing support is agreed.

Review and approvals

The client must review supplied pages, business details and keyword topics within the agreed workflow. Publication confirms approval of the visible information.

Inactivity

A project may pause or close when required information or approval remains unavailable beyond the agreed inactivity period.

SEO and ranking

CraftDigitally provides technical and on-page foundations, including 40 documented checks. Search rankings remain affected by competition, content, authority, location and time.

Acceptable conduct

CraftDigitally may stop work involving unlawful activity, misleading claims, abuse or content that conflicts with the programme's eligibility rules.

Data handling

Application and project information is handled under the CraftDigitally privacy policy. Optional marketing consent is separate from programme communication.

Referral disclosure

Hosting and optional theme relationships are disclosed before an accepted client makes a purchase.

The client contracts directly with the provider. Provider pricing, renewals, cancellation and refunds follow the provider's current terms. Referral commission does not give CraftDigitally ownership of the client account.

Handover and continuing responsibility

The completed website becomes the client's working asset and needs routine care after the project ends.

At handover, the client should confirm access to the domain, hosting, WordPress, Google Search Console and Google Analytics. The report, walkthrough and editing guide are supplied through the agreed delivery channel.

After the agreed support window, the client is responsible for renewals, backups, software updates, user access, published information and ongoing form delivery. A separate maintenance agreement can change those responsibilities only when both sides approve it.

Search conditions can change after launch. New content, plugin changes, provider changes and third-party scripts can affect performance or indexability, so the 40-check report records a handover baseline rather than a permanent guarantee.

The client should report a suspected build error through the agreed contact channel during the confirmed support window. Requests for new pages, content or functions are assessed separately.

Account recovery details and renewal notices should remain with the client. CraftDigitally does not need permanent ownership to complete a standard handover.
